#Lights, Trucks, Action! A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Making Concerts Happen—Featuring Green Day

Updated: Sep 24

As you know at Rickards Transportation we specialize in production and music tours, handling everything related to touring production. This time, I stepped up to a new challenge outside my usual production and tour work. My team usually takes care of flatbed and step deck moves, but I finally got the chance to try it myself—and I’m really glad I did! This was a great opportunity to support a stage move for the legendary band Green Day, transporting their setup from Chase Stadium to Las Vegas!

Fun fact: Many people think music tours are all about the stage lights and the band, but there's so much more happening behind the scenes. Depending on the scale of the tour, the stage system alone requires anywhere from 8 to 12 trailers, with a well-coordinated logistics team managing all the moving parts.

From the stage system to lighting and sound, it’s a massive operation that includes everything—catering, barricades, props, and the collaboration of numerous professionals working together to ensure a successful event.

Next time you’re at a concert, take a moment to appreciate the setup and all the effort that goes into creating those unforgettable experiences. You might just see the magic behind the curtain!
